Who Said you Can't Play with Your Food?

You have put in a lot of thought in to the location of your wedding and reception. The d├ęcor and colors are all chosen and now it's time to start thinking about what food you are going to serve your guests. Choosing the menu is not as daunting as it may seem and can be quite fun. I recommend that couples choose cuisine that reflects the area and is meaningful to them.

You are having a destination wedding so consider local cuisine. When getting married on the Outer Banks you do not want to serve Maine lobster.  How about fresh caught tuna or seasonal local crab?  A shrimp and grit station is always a huge crowd pleaser.  There is abundance of locally fresh caught seafood that can make the perfect choice. Aren't seafood lovers?  Consider other Southern cuisine such as; North Carolina barbeque, fried green tomatoes, or sweet potato biscuits.

Another important consideration is to remember your own personal favorites. Just as the location has special meaning to you both, choose a menu that does the same. Love cheeseburger sliders and fries?  How about mac and cheese?  Don't think that would be appropriate for a wedding? You will be amazed how a great caterer can take a simple dish and turn it into a showstopper.

Have fun and play with your food ... your guests will love you for it.
